Monroe kicked off their season on Tuesday but they'll have to wait until their next match for a more definitive result. Neither they nor the Piedmont Panthers could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. There's a chance things could've gone differently had Monroe not been charged with a red card from Keven Lopez-Ramirez.

Henderson Gonzales and Jesus Quziapa scored both of Monroe's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe will head out to challenge West Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Piedmont, they will face off against Asheboro at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
