Baseball Recap: Evangel Christian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Evangel Christian won the last time they faced Wiregrass and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lightning's pitcher stepped up to hand the Kings a 5-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lightning.

The result came thanks to ASHER EVANS's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Evangel Christian let RALEY CURTIS and TREY HOPE run wild. CURTIS went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while HOPE went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Evangel Christian's record now sits at 26-3. As for Wiregrass, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Coincidentally, Evangel Christian and Wiregrass will both be playing East Central HomeSchool the next time they take the field. The Lightning will head out to face the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Kings will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
