Baseball Game Preview: Emporia Spartans vs. Spring Hill Broncos

The Emporia Spartans will challenge the Spring Hill Broncos on Friday. Emporia's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Spring Hill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Emporia barely beat Iola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-1 win on Friday. Considering the Spartans have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Spring Hill was able to grind out a solid victory over Chanute on Tuesday, taking the game 8-4.

The win made it two in a row for Emporia and bumps their season record up to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Spring Hill, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
