Basketball Recap: Logan Trojans vs. Western Plains Bobcats
The Logan Trojans entered their tilt with the Western Plains Bobcats with two consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with three. Logan enjoyed a cozy 54-36 win over the Bobcats on Friday. This was payback for Logan, who suffered a 39-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Western Plains saw an underclassman step up: Madelyn Kraus scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 69.4% of Western Plains' points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Spangler, who scored three points along with ten assists.
Logan pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Western Plains, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Logan will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Ringnecks at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Western Plains, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. on February 3rd.
