Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Hills Spartans vs. Butler Bulldogs

Glenn Hills is 0-10 against Butler since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Glenn Hills Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Butler Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m.

Glenn Hills played against Burke County and lost via forfeit.

Butler is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Burke County: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Butler blew Burke County out of the water with a 66-36 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Glenn Hills better focus on containing Brayla Harris and Paris Floyd as the pair were huge in Butler's win. Harris almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 13 boards, and nine assists, while Floyd went 7 of 14 en route to 15 points and seven steals. Floyd has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Rania Curry was another key player, putting up seven points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Butler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Glenn Hills is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.

Glenn Hills took a serious blow against Butler in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 74-43. Thankfully for Glenn Hills, Karen Nimo (who shot 5-for-8 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time.
