Baseball Recap: Goodland Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Goodland ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Cimarron Bluejays 2-1. The Cowboys have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bluejays, too.

The team relied heavily on Jared Quain, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Goodland is undefeated when Quain posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. Logan Franz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Goodland's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Cimarron, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-9-2 record.

Goodland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bluejays: the pair will be back at it again later today.
