Baseball Recap: Andover Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Andover has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.56 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They walked away with a 16-12 win over the Little Falls Flyers. With that victory, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Jack Simpson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Andover got a massive performance out of Jaxon Knutson, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Knutson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Law, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Andover was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Andover pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Little Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Andover didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Coon Rapids on the 29th. Little Falls has also already played their next game (against Milaca), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
