Baseball Game Preview: Holyoke Dragons vs. Limon Badgers

Holyoke is 0-6 against Limon since May of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Badgers at 1:00 p.m. Holyoke has given up an average of 16.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Holyoke's last matchup with Prairie could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Dragons lost 18-5 to the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Limon got the win against Burlington on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Badgers, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brooks Scherrer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Camdyn Tacha was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brody Scherrer, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Limon pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Holyoke, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
