Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Malayshia Bradley and Harmoni Williams Lead Orangeburg-Wilkinson to Victory

Orangeburg-Wilkinson waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Battery Creek Dolphins as they made off with a 43-23 win. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Dolphins are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson was led to victory by Harmoni Williams and Malayshia Bradley. Williams almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists, while Bradley dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Bradley has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Leon Steward, who posted nine points and four steals.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Battery Creek, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Charleston at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson is facing North Charleston at the right time seeing as North Charleston is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Battery Creek, they will square off against Hanahan at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
