Soccer Recap: Grulla Takes a Loss

Grulla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 8-0 to the Hidalgo Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 837th, while the Pirates are ranked 240th).

Grulla's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Hidalgo, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Looking ahead, Grulla will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Valley View at 7:30 p.m. Grulla has given up an average of 3.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Hidalgo, they are taking a road trip to square off against Vanguard Academy Mozart at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
