Basketball Recap: Gus Varela Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat San Pasqual Valley

Patagonia won the last time they faced San Pasqual Valley, and things went their way on Friday too. The Patagonia Lobos walked away with a 50-43 victory over the San Pasqual Valley Warriors.

Patagonia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gus Varela out in front who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points. That's the most points Varela has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Kannon Shore, who posted ten points.

Patagonia's record is now 6-4. As for San Pasqual Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Patagonia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 34-27 loss against Fredonia on the 6th. As for San Pasqual Valley, they will host Mountainside at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for San Pasqual Valley and four for Mountainside.
