Salem is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Warrensburg is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Generals will welcome the Burgers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Salem made easy work of Corinth and carried off a 10-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Riverhawks: they've now won three in a row.

James Beagle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Beagle was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Stephen Yakubec and Cooper Saddlemire dominated on the mound. Yakubec went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple, while Saddlemire went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI Saddlemire has posted since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Salem's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Yakubec, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Salem hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Warrensburg made easy work of Argyle on Wednesday and carried off an 18-3 victory.
Kawliga Duell made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
In other batting news, Warrensburg let Louis Lang and Owen Jones run wild. Lang got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs, while Jones got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Tucker, who went 1-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Warrensburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Salem hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Warrensburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .336. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Salem's way against Warrensburg in their previous matchup back in April, as Salem made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Burgers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
