Softball Recap: Ygnacio Valley Takes a Loss

Ygnacio Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Mt. Diablo Red Devils, falling 21-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 20-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Ygnacio Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Mt. Diablo, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ygnacio Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Campolindo at 4:30 p.m. on the 18th. As for Mt. Diablo, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against San Lorenzo at 4:00 p.m. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
