Soccer Recap: Monroe County Comes Up Short

Monroe County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Monroe County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky soccer rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Franklin-Simpson are ranked 33rd).

Monroe County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Franklin-Simpson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.

Coming up, Monroe County is taking a road trip to challenge Clinton County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monroe County will be up against Clinton County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.45 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Franklin-Simpson, they have already played their next game, an 8-0 win against Russellville on the 9th.
