The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Newman has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Marie Philip will arrive with three straight victories.

Marie Philip took Non Varsity Opponent into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 20-25, 25-12, 15-7.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Marie Philip, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.

Newman beat Marie Philip 3-1 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newman since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
