Soccer Recap: Catawba Ridge Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Clover

Catawba Ridge faced Clover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Copperheads fell 3-1 to the Blue Eagles. Catawba Ridge were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clover apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Catawba Ridge's goal came courtesy of Ava Kenny, which was the first she's scored this season.

Catawba Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Clover, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catawba Ridge will venture away from home to face off against Fort Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clover, they will head out to challenge A.C. Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. A.C. Flora's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Clover's offense will have their work cut out for them.
