Soccer Game Preview: Damien vs. Chino Hills

The Damien Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Chino Hills Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Damien's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Damien's offense. They fell just short of Upland by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 568th, while the Highlanders/Scots are ranked 54th).

Meanwhile, Chino Hills and Etiwanda finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.

Damien's loss dropped their record down to 7-11-2. Chino Hills' draw gives them a new season record of 10-3-5.

Damien came out on top in a nail-biter against Chino Hills in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Damien since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
