Baseball Recap: Woodhaven Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Woodhaven ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Garden City Cougars 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on four straight.

Woodhaven got a great performance from Matt Regan as he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Regan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Woodhaven saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Spencer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Woodhaven's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Garden City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Woodhaven will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
