It was a good run, but Rio Rico unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Buena Colts and fell 41-6.

A big part of Buena's win came down to the chemistry between Adelina Ortega and her top target Deztany Toyota-Villalobos. Ortega threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns while Toyota-Villalobos picked up 145 receiving yards and one score. Toyota-Villalobos was even better on defense, picking up two sacks, making seven total tackles, and defending one pass. Zion McLin made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Rio Rico's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Buena, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Rio Rico will head out on the road to face off against Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buena, they will be playing at home against Desert View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
