Basketball Recap: De'arion Holley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Barberton over Roosevelt

Barberton was the 59-49 winner over Roosevelt when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Barberton Magics fell just short of the Roosevelt Rough Riders by a score of 55-53 on Friday.

Several Magics players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was De'Arion Holley, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 boards. Holley is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Joey Ondo, who posted 16 points along with five assists and five boards.

It was another big night for Jaden Dennison, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 25 points for Roosevelt. Carter Foreman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Barberton dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.

Coming up, Barberton is taking a road trip to challenge Highland at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. As for Roosevelt, they will be playing at home against Woodridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
