Basketball Game Preview: McDonough Rams vs. Patuxent Panthers

The McDonough Rams will challenge the Patuxent Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Wednesday, McDonough didn't have quite enough to beat Chopticon and fell 61-58.

Meanwhile, Patuxent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Westlake and fell 78-33. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Patuxent's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for McDonough, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

McDonough didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Patuxent in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. Will McDonough repeat their success, or does Patuxent have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
