Softball Game Preview: Johnson City Eagles vs. Junction Eagles

Johnson City is a perfect 7-0 against Junction since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Johnson City has four straight victories, Junction has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Johnson City's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Junction. Considering Johnson City has won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Bo Crownover, who gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks to keep Junction off the board. Those 16 strikeouts gave Crownover a new career-high.

At the plate, Sara Kuvet was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Haley, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Kuvet wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Johnson City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Johnson City pushed their record up to 8-1-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Junction, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
