Football Game Preview: Penn Manor Comets vs. Wilson Bulldogs

Penn Manor is 0-10 against Wilson since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Comets will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, everything came up roses for Penn Manor against Littlestown as the squad secured a 39-6 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Comets just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, Wilson came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 38-28 victory over the Black Knights. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Black Knights are ranked 188th).

Penn Manor better keep an eye on Mason Young. He was instrumental in Wilson's win, throwing for 262 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 38 yards. Braydon Farrell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Wilson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Farrell, Elijah Dean, and Jaiden Carpenter picked up one apiece. Farrell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Penn Manor's record is now 2-5. As for Wilson, their record now sits at 6-1.

Penn Manor was taken down by Wilson 58-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
