Softball Game Preview: St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs vs. Whites Creek Cobras

The St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs will challenge the Whites Creek Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Cecilia Academy has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Cecilia Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since May 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, falling 20-5. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Scarabs' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Meanwhile, Whites Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 17-10 win. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

India Taylor was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamia Moore, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Whites Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in four consecutive games.

Whites Creek pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.3 runs over those games. As for St. Cecilia Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
