Baseball Game Preview: Valley Torah Wolfpack vs. Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals

Valley Torah hasn't had much luck against Santa Clarita Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wolfpack will head out to challenge the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Valley Torah has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Valley Torah is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 19th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 22-0 to Desert Christian.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Santa Clarita Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Palmdale Academy Charter School on Tuesday. The Cardinals never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The contest marked the Cardinals' most dominant victory of the season.

Zane Stauffer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Waldron, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Santa Clarita Christian: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise.
