Softball Recap: Burlington Township Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Burlington Township entered their tilt with Hopewell Valley Central on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Gabby Morgan, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Hopewell Valley Central off the board. Morgan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Trista Davis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Melanie Wiesniewski was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Burlington Township's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Hopewell Valley Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Burlington Township will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Cross at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Hopewell Valley Central, they are taking a road trip to take on Central Bucks West at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bucks have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
