Basketball Recap: Domonik Villa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Benson over Bradshaw Mountain

Benson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 53-44 to the Bradshaw Mountain Bears. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Bears are ranked 100th).

Benson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Domonik Villa, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kellen Deskins, who put up five points and seven rebounds.

Benson's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Benson will host Willcox at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-53 victory against Mingus on the 4th.
