Baseball Recap: Marmion Takes a Loss

Marmion came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Providence Catholic Celtics. The loss continues a trend for the Cadets in their meetings with the Celtics: they've now lost seven in a row.

Marmion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmit Collins, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Marmion's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-1. As for Providence Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marmion will challenge Glenbard South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Providence Catholic, they will face off against De La Salle at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Celtics are facing the Meteors at the right time seeing as the Meteors are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
