Softball Recap: McNeil Takes a Loss

McNeil was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Round Rock Dragons, falling 15-0. The Mavericks were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

McNeil saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabel Bane, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

McNeil's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Round Rock, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McNeil will welcome Stony Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McNeil has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Round Rock, they will square off against Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Round Rock Westwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.45 runs per game on average), something Round Rock will no doubt try to take advantage of.
