Campo Verde has gone a perfect 3-0 against Notre Dame Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Coyotes will face off against the Saints at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Campo Verde has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Notre Dame Prep will arrive with three straight wins.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Campo Verde had to take the L. They fell just short of Desert Mountain by a score of 6-4 on Thursday.

Wyatt Rauch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Girard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep won against Arizona College Prep on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Saints walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Knights.

Trystan Swayda looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Boeding, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Brayden Higby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Notre Dame Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Campo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Notre Dame Prep, their record is now 11-14.

Campo Verde came out on top in a nail-biter against Notre Dame Prep in their previous meeting on April 4th, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
