Basketball Recap: Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sadie Sharbono and Malorie Miller

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics lost against Acadiana Christian last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics Storm took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Acadiana Christian Lions.

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics' loss came despite strong showings from Malorie Miller and Sadie Sharbono. Miller went 8 for 15 on her way to 17 points and six rebounds, while Sharbono dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. That's the most rebounds Miller has posted since back in October.

Acadiana Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yvette Olivier led the charge by putting up 18 points and seven rebounds. Olivier's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Tabb, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Acadiana Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Varsity Opponent the next time they take the court. Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics will head out to face Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Acadiana Christian will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
