Softball Preview: Tahoma Bears vs. White River Hornets        
        
		
            
 Tahoma has been on the road for two straight, but  on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the White River Hornets at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Tahoma will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  contest than the last.
 Tahoma stacked  a  seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Auburn with a sharp  18-5 victory. Tahoma's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
  Justine Hopkins was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits (and only one walk). Hopkins was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Kalani Higa was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  home run the last five times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Lily Rice, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile,  after a string of four wins, White River's good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They suffered a  rough 10-0 defeat at the hands of Franklin Pierce. White River was red-hot at the plate headed into the  match (they scored no less than ten  runs in the four  matchups prior) but Franklin Pierce's pitchers proved too tough.
 Tahoma pushed their record up to 9-1 with that  win, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for White River, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 5-4.
 Tahoma took their  victory against White River  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  11-1. Will Tahoma repeat their success,  or does  White River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
