Recap: Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers vs. Berean Baptist Academy Bulldogs
The Elevation Prep Academy Honey Badgers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-56 to Berean Baptist Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Elevation Prep Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Berean Baptist Academy is ranked 288th).
Several Honey Badgers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was TYLER CRIDER, who scored 17 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists. The matchup was CRIDER's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of JAYLEN THOMAS, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Daniel Mbaeteka, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Amari Goggins, who scored 12 points.
Elevation Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Berean Baptist Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Elevation Prep Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rock Hill at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Rock Hill is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Berean Baptist Academy, they will be playing at home against Freedom Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully Berean Baptist Academy likes a good challenge.
