South Kent School had to start their season on the road back in November of 2023, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Brewster Academy Prep by a score of 61-58.
Broome Street Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 84-83 to Capital Prep Harbor. While losing is never fun, Broome Street Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 124th in New York, while Capital Prep Harbor is ranked tenth in Connecticut).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Samuel Acevedo and Jacob Henderson. Henderson had a great game and dropped a double-double on 42 points and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Acevedo was balling out in the loss, scoring 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
South Kent School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Broome Street Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
