Softball Recap: Covington Comes Up Short

Covington lost against Mandeville last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions fell just short of the Skippers by a score of 5-4. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Catelyn Yeager made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Mandeville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington will venture away from home to face off against Pearl River at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Mandeville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Academy of Our Lady at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Skippers are facing the Penguins at the right time seeing as the Penguins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
