The Caledonia Warriors will square off against the Pine Island Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Caledonia's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Pine Island has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Caledonia came out on top against Rushford-Peterson on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Trojans. Considering the Warriors have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyson Ginther made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Ginther was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Caledonia let Ben Stemper and Garrett Konz run wild. Stemper went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Konz got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave Konz a new career-high. Reid Klug was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Caledonia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Pine Island came up short against Cannon Falls on Friday and fell 5-2.
Caledonia is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Pine Island, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Everything went Caledonia's way against Pine Island when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Caledonia made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
