Softball Recap: Highland Park Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Highland Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees by a score of 5-1 on Friday.

Lily Freedman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Swick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Highland Park pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Zion-Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1.
