Softball Game Preview: Portsmouth Clippers vs. Bishop Guertin Cardinals

Portsmouth hasn't had much luck against Bishop Guertin recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Clippers will welcome the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Portsmouth will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Bedford on Monday. The Clippers blew past the Bulldogs 15-5. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bishop Guertin earned a 9-4 win over Dover on Monday.

Bishop Guertin's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Portsmouth, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
