Baseball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Northfield Nighthawks

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Northfield Nighthawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thomas Jefferson's last matchup with Denver South could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Spartans lost 9-3 to the Ravens. Surprisingly, this marked the Spartans' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Thomas Jefferson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Feierstein, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Northfield entered their game against Denver North on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Nighthawks came up short against the Vikings, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Nighthawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Thomas Jefferson's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Northfield, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 14-3.

Thomas Jefferson couldn't quite finish off Northfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
