Softball Recap: St. Pius X's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Grants on Tuesday, St. Pius X came back down to earth. The Sartans fell just short of the Valencia Jaguars by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. The Sartans' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jordan Chavez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Grady, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. Pius X's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-13. As for Valencia, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

Coincidentally, St. Pius X and Valencia will both be playing Highland the next time they take the field. The Jaguars will head out to face the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Sartans will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
