Softball Recap: Bloomfield Takes a Loss

Bloomfield was the 15-0 winner over Valencia when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bloomfield came up short against Valencia on Friday, falling 15-9. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harley Rightmire and Tatum Lantana did some serious damage despite the final result: Rightmire scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Lantana scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Lantana a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Craygen Lucero, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Bloomfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .593. Their batting average was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .375 that Valencia posted.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Valencia, the win also got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Bloomfield will take on Silver at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday. As for Valencia, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Valencia Jaguars duke it out with Piedra Vista Panthers at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday. Their pitchers better be ready for this one: Piedra Vista has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
