Volleyball Recap: Dayton's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Dayton came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Elko Indians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

The victory didn't come easy: Elko scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 27-29, 25-21.

Leading Dayton to victory were ARACELI ACOSTA and ALISI TULIMAFUA-CURRAN. ACOSTA had 20 digs and three aces, while TULIMAFUA-CURRAN had 21 assists and 11 digs. Those 21 assists gave TULIMAFUA-CURRAN a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Dayton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matchups.

Dayton's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Elko, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-12.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Dayton and Fernley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elko, they will be playing at home against Lowry at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
