Softball Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Kennedy Titans

The Miramonte Matadors will take on the Kennedy Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Miramonte, who comes in off a win.

Miramonte's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Terra Linda with a sharp 20-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Matadors.

Abby Warren and Sammy Hardy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Warren didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Hardy pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Warren got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Hardy got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Warren a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maddie McKim was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Lucy Daoust was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Miramonte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Terra Linda only posted an OBP of .118.

Kennedy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Foothill.

Miramonte came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Matadors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
