Humboldt won the last time they faced Waverly and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cubs walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Humboldt took both sets by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-12.

Skylar Hottenstein had a dynamite game, getting 11 digs and seven aces. Bailey Daniels was another key player, getting four digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Humboldt was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matches.

Humboldt is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Waverly, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5-2.

Humboldt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Pleasanton on the 20th. As for Waverly, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Riverton on the 20th.
