Columbus Grove is facing Kalida at the wrong time: Kalida suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 3-1 to the Vikings. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 25-19 in the first set.
Kalida started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-13, 27-25, 25-22.
Kalida's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gwen Stechschulte, who had four digs and two aces, and Sophie Vorst, who had four aces and two assists.
Meanwhile, Columbus Grove came up short against Pandora-Gilboa on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-23.
Kalida's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Columbus Grove, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
