Maple Mountain has gone 8-2 against Spanish Fork recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles will get right back to it and host the Spanish Fork Dons at 5:15 p.m. Maple Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.

On Thursday, Maple Mountain was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-47 to Cedar Valley. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Maple Mountain saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leah Bailey went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points. That was a full 61.7% of Maple Mountain's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Lainhart, who put up eight points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fork came up short against Cedar Valley on Tuesday and fell 42-32.

Spanish Fork's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Maple Mountain, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Maple Mountain strolled past Spanish Fork when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 64-48. Will Maple Mountain repeat their success, or does Spanish Fork have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
