Basketball Recap: Floydada Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Floydada and Gruver squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Floydada had to settle for second. They came up short against the Gruver Greyhounds, falling 62-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Whirlwinds have suffered since December 12, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Floydada lost, don't look at Sergio Valadez. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Valadez is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Tyrean Henderson was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Floydada's defeat dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Gruver, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-1.

Floydada does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gruver has already played their next contest (against Miles), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
