Baseball Recap: Mcminn County Starts Season with Loss on the Road

McMinn County kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 15-5 to the Bradley Central Bears. The Cherokees haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

McMinn County got a good showing from Bo Barnett, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Jaxen Fugate and Jaser Arms did some serious damage despite the final result: Fugate got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Arms scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Chase McDonald, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

While McMinn County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
