Basketball Game Preview: Walhalla Razorbacks vs. West-Oak Warriors

Walhalla is on a five-game streak of home wins, while West-Oak is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Walhalla Razorbacks will welcome the West-Oak Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Friday, Walhalla humbled Pendleton with an 85-20 victory. The Razorbacks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walhalla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gianna Ortiz-Viera, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kami Roach, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists.

Walhalla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, West-Oak really took it to Pendleton for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-29 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-13.

Walhalla is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for West-Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

Walhalla strolled past West-Oak in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 53-38. Does Walhalla have another victory up their sleeve, or will West-Oak turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
