Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley Catholic). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Catlin Gabel Eagles a 21-0 shutout on Friday. The Valiants haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Brandon Yee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Valley Catholic is 3-1-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-7 otherwise. Yee was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Valley Catholic got a massive performance out of Alex Post, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Post a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trevor Yee, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Valley Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Valley Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Catlin Gabel, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
